Let’s say you’re running a TV ad or a radio ad. You can use social media to extend those promotions. If you have an email marketing list, you can use social media to get more people to sign up for your emails. If your brand uses a lot of PR, you can use social media ads to highlight those PR placements that you’re earning to a much broader audience. If you approach social media marketing this way, you’ll have a lot more success, just in general, with your marketing plan.

Take a look at your marketing initiatives right now. How could social media help them be more successful? If you’re unsure of that, one of the ways that typically works for most social media campaigns is to run social media ads. Social media ads would be a nice compliment to radio and television ads, even print pieces, blogs, PR placement, pretty much email. Pretty much anything I’ve said, social media ads can help you promote a little bit more. But the key takeaway here is to incorporate social media marketing into your other marketing initiatives.
